ZMS Advocates LLP (“the Firm”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting the personal data of individuals who use our website or contact us about our services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal data, and your rights under the Data Protection Act, 2019 (“the DPA”).
1. Who we are
ZMS Advocates LLP is a limited liability partnership of advocates registered and regulated by the Law Society of Kenya. Our offices are at Euro Tower, 2nd Floor, 28 Muthithi Road, Westlands, Nairobi.
2. Data we collect
When you contact us through our website, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided) and the content of your message. We may also collect technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) via Google Analytics.
3. How we use your data
We use your personal data to respond to your enquiry, assess whether we can assist you with your legal matter, and comply with our legal and regulatory obligations. We do not use your data for marketing without your explicit consent.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent (when you submit an enquiry form) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our legal services.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties except where required by law or with our professional indemnity insurers in the course of a claim. We use Google Analytics to analyse website usage — this may involve data being processed outside Kenya.
6. Data retention
We retain enquiry data for 12 months from the date of receipt unless you become a client, in which case our client data retention policy applies (minimum 7 years in accordance with professional requirements).
7. Your rights
